Refugee Resettlement

In 2016, FPC responded to the global refugee crisis by co-sponsoring the Zadrans, a family of four from Afghanistan.

FPC Cares About Refugees

In partnership with Bethany Christian Services, FPC members found and prepared an apartment; gathered and purchased necessities; met the Zadran family at the airport; and provided transportation, English tutoring and ongoing cultural assistance. On a weekly – sometimes daily – basis we visited the Zadrans at their new home to provide friendship and support.

FPC members, Judy and Jack Faber, share about an experience they shared with the Zadran family in the Holland Sentinel.

Muhammed Zadran wrote a letter to the Holland Sentinel. He said, “Words can’t describe how thankful we are the to U.S. government and First Presbyterian Church…”
